What requirements should be met for machining high-precision components for mold accessories?

As the market evolves and demands increase, the requirements for precision mold components are becoming increasingly stringent.  Therefore, as a manufacturer dealing extensively with the mold industry, it is imperative to meet relevant standards in order to produce highly precise and efficient mold parts.  So, what are the requirements for machining high-precision parts for mold components?  Here is a compilation of requirements for machining high-precision parts in mold component factories:
 
Firstly, the parts must possess thermal fatigue resistance.  Some molds undergo repeated heating and cooling during operation, causing stress changes on the cavity surface due to tension and compression, leading to surface cracking, peeling, increased friction, hindered plastic deformation, and reduced dimensional accuracy, ultimately resulting in mold failure.  Thermal fatigue is one of the main failure modes of hot working molds, thus such precision mold components should exhibit high resistance to thermal fatigue.
 
Secondly, toughness of the parts is also crucial.  The working conditions of precision mold components are often harsh, with some bearing significant impact loads, leading to brittle fracture.  To prevent sudden fractures during operation, molds should have high strength and toughness, which mainly depend on the carbon content, grain size, and microstructure of the material.
Thirdly, high-temperature resistance of mold components is essential.  Elevated working temperatures can cause a decrease in hardness and strength, resulting in premature wear or plastic deformation and subsequent failure.  Therefore, mold materials should have high tempering stability to ensure high hardness and strength at working temperatures.
 
Fourthly, corrosion resistance of precision mold components is important.  Some molds, such as plastic molds, can decompose corrosive gases such as HCl and HF due to the presence of elements like chlorine and fluorine in plastics, corroding the surface of the mold cavity, increasing surface roughness, and exacerbating wear and failure.
 
Lastly, fatigue fracture resistance of precision mold components is crucial.  Under the long-term action of cyclic stress during operation, precision mold components often experience fatigue fracture.  Forms of fatigue fracture include low-energy multi-hit fatigue fracture, tensile fatigue fracture, contact fatigue fracture, and bending fatigue fracture.  The fatigue fracture resistance of molds mainly depends on their strength, toughness, hardness, and the content of inclusions in the material.
