Types of Stamping Dies:

Simple Die: Used for single-step stamping operations such as punching or shearing.

Compound Die: Integrates multiple stamping operations into a single die, allowing for the completion of several operations in one go.

Progressive Die: In the stamping process, material is progressively passed through a series of dies, with each die performing a portion of the operation. This type is suitable for large-scale production.

Transfer Die: Uses mechanical arms or other transfer mechanisms to move the material from one station to the next, achieving continuous multi-step stamping.

Bending Die: Used to bend metal sheets into various shapes, such as U-shaped or V-shaped bends.

Deep Drawing Die: Used to draw metal sheets into deeper shapes, making various containers and cover parts.

Manufacturing Process of Stamping Dies:

Cutting and Pre-processing: The selected die material is cut into approximate shapes and undergoes preliminary processing such as milling and turning.

cnc machining: Precision machining of the die using CNC machines, including drilling, milling, and grinding.

Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM): For complex shapes and fine holes, electrical discharge machining may be used.

Wire cutting: For particularly fine cutting, wire cutting technology might be employed.

Heat Treatment: To enhance the die’s hardness and wear resistance, heat treatment such as quenching and tempering is typically performed.

Surface Treatment: To reduce wear and improve corrosion resistance, the die surface may undergo hardening, coating, or other surface treatments.
